We’re celebrating the anniversary of our opening as the Majestic Theatre on October 11, 1915. The theatre thrived for decades as a vaudeville house and movie palace, but by the 1970s, it (and the State Theatre next door) was in decline and in need of saving from becoming a Holiday Inn. Repairs mounted, attendance waned, and its future was bleak. Fortunately John Bernardoni, Chuck Eckerman, and Steve Scott got involved to advocate for and save the Paramount.
Every anniversary we celebrate the theatre being saved and well-loved the past 50+ years. We are excited for the Paramount’s future as current work is underway to fully restore it.

Take home a piece of Austin history with a pair of original seats from the historic Paramount Theatre.
Approximate Dimensions for a pair 36" wide x 36" high x 24" deep. The historic ornamental end caps will not be included with the seats. Those are being restored and reinstalled in the Paramount Theatre. Please reference the photo on this page for what they will resemble.
These chairs were carefully removed from the Paramount auditorium as part of the theatre's once-in-a-generation restoration. A limited number are now available for purchase, offering Paramount friends and fans a special opportunity to preserve a piece of the theatre's history in their own homes, offices, businesses, or other spaces.
Each purchase includes two authentic Paramount Theatre chairs for $500. Quantities are limited and available while supplies last.
These are authentic, well-loved theatre seats and are being sold as-is in their current used condition. Because they were installed directly into the Paramount auditorium:
All chairs must be picked up from our downtown Austin location. Once your purchase is complete, a member of the Paramount team will contact you with pickup instructions and available scheduling information. Shipping and delivery are not available.
